Sunday, 9/17/17

Woke up to 36 degrees temperatures outside our van this morning.  Brrrr.  Fortunately our down bags kept us warm, but having to get up in the middle of the night to pee was not fun.

Alex and Alice surprisingly met us at our campground around 9 AM just as we were getting ready to drive to their house.  The four of us went out for breakfast in Frisco.  Conveniently there was a laundromat right next to the restaurant, so we did our wash which we definitely needed after 7 days of camping.

We finished breakfast around 11 and returned to  Alex & Alice's home  for a short visit and an awning demonstration before Alice left for work. The rest of us took a driving tour of the Frisco, Dillon, Breckenridge, & Silverthorne area.  The aspen trees are just turning and as we drove up and down the hills we saw every possible variation of color.  Alex showed us some of his favorite off road camping locations which certainly require 4 wheel drive to access.

We went our for dinner in Breckenridge (Empire Burger) and then grocery shopped.  We're heading off to southwestern Colorado tomorrow visiting Great Sand Dunes, Canyonlands, and Arches National Parks.  Alex and Alice will join us on Saturday in Moab and spend the next four days camping with us which will be a real treat.  Theyve  camped in this area a lot so they'll be very helpful guides.
